It started with a supposed 75 chapter Naruto fanfic my friend “wrote”.
Maybe she thought none of us would notice, when she presented ChatGPT's unedited writing as her own.
AI didn’t create the betrayal — it revealed it.
(seriously, with writing like this, what was she thinking??? The bullet points in the middle of prose...)
Times have changed, and coexisting with AI is a reality we must all face, even if we don't want to.

AI is a tool, primarily people use it to complete tasks, but what is the byproduct of AI usage? What can AI use reveal about the humans we coexist with?
This incident made me think about how we as humans interact with AI; how it affects the way we interact with the world and... each other.

Unfortunately for her, I knew *exactly* what ChatGPT free plan writing sounds like when the Plus trial runs out.

I had some faith left in her, thinking if I hinted at knowing, maybe she would own up to it on her own, as she'd done that last time she lied to us about something minor. I asked about her process, how she outlined the story if at all. She only said things like "the words just seemed to come out", "I only wrote a few sentences as an outline", creating plausible deniability that it was not AI generated.

Since she wouldn't admit to it, I informed the others who she tricked with this "AI slop" and we decided to confront her about it.

I took one for the team because she said she regarded me as her closest friend (though when she told me that, I didn't know why because she never acted like it. And now I think I have my proof of why).

Instead of admitting to her fault, she tried to gaslight me into thinking it was *my* fault for having no faith in her, even denying wanting to post it to AO3 when I could easily pull up a screenshot from Discord of her saying that.
Had this issue not arisen, who knows how much longer we would have hung around a person like this...
She shared it with us, asking us all to dedicate hours of our time time to read chapters upon chapters of this fanfic that supposedly she typed out so quickly that her fingers hurt.

She even was planning to post it to AO3, after some "grammatical error edits", when no such errors existed. Because while ChatGPT may be terrible at writing fiction, it could English just fine.
This image was traced from an AI generated image this person created of her OC and Darui using ChatGPT. Oddly she admitted to the use of AI in making this image unprompted...
The facial features of the people were copy-pasted from the AI generated image and given a glitch effect.
